The Azad Jammu & Kashmir Ombudsman presented its annual report for the year 2022 of Mohtasib Secretariat to the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir on 9th June 2023 at the Kashmir House Islamabad.
The AJK Ombudsman Secretariat, established as an independent institution to ensure administrative transparency and safeguard the rights of the public. It is a comprehensive report highlighting its achievements, challenges, and ongoing initiatives during the previous year. The report provides valuable insights into the Secretariat’s efforts to enhance governance, address public grievances, and promotes accountability. It highlighted the Secretariat’s endeavors to investigate complaints impartially to provide timely relief to affected individuals and hold accountable those responsible for maladministration or misconduct.
During the meeting, the Ombudsman AJK briefed the President about the performance/Progress and the key areas of focus in the year 2022 . He highlighted the Secretariat’s commitment in resolving public complaints efficiently and effectively.
President Azad Jammu and Kashmir commended the AJK Ombudsman Secretariat for its dedicated efforts in upholding accountability, and provide relief to the general Public. He acknowledged the Secretariat’s instrumental role in safeguarding the rights of the citizens and appreciated its contribution to ensuring good governance.
The President emphasized to provide the relief to the aggrieved persons at their door steps. He also agreed to establish regional offices at divisional level at the earliest. He also commended to provide the office accommodation to Ombudsman Secretariat under one roof.
